Autolox and the world of car keys.

My name is Kirk and I am the Owner and Director of Autolox LTD.

Back in 2012, I had no clear idea of what I wanted to do with myself. I just knew I wanted to build my own company…doing…something?

By chance, my father-in-law lost his car keys and I watched an auto locksmith create new keys – from nothing! I remember thinking, ‘Wow! What a cool job!’

That same day I went online and searched for auto locksmith training courses. It just so happened that the UK’s first accredited auto locksmith course was due to start a month later. I called straight away and signed up.

The course was taught by Andy Marshall Brown and I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. I made good friends and quickly realised I had found the right profession for me. After qualifying, I bought myself a van, invested in specialist tools and founded Autolox.

Going from the classroom to live jobs was a steep learning curve. Real-world vehicle security systems, immobilisers and key programming are very different from a training environment. Fortunately, I connected with a great group of experienced locksmiths who were always willing to advise and help when needed. Many of them became close friends and, 13 years later, Autolox is still going strong.

The automotive security industry evolves constantly. Vehicle technology changes every year, and staying ahead means continuous learning and ongoing investment in equipment and knowledge. It’s an industry that never stands still – it certainly keeps me on my toes!

What started as one man, unsure of where his future would lead has grown into a trusted local auto locksmith business built on experience, continual training and genuine customer care.

I really do care about my customers, and I believe my reviews reflect that. This business and my customers have enabled me to buy a family home and raise my children the way I always hoped I would. I never have – and never will – lose sight of that.

Autolox is a family-run business. Whilst I personally carry out all auto locksmith work, my family supports the company behind the scenes with administration and organisation to ensure everything runs smoothly.
